2023 National Council Session
NCS Report
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at NCS. I was energized by the 900 other delegates in the room with me as we debated the 7 proposals under consideration. I was proud of the many members of our delegation who spoke both for and against several proposals. And I was thankful to be supported by our wonderful GSNorCal staff members.
There was healthy debate on most of the proposals and I appreciated the thought that went in to each of our delegate's votes. GSUSA has put out a summary of the actions and the results are also noted next to the proposals below.
If you would like to learn more or have a report presented at your Volunteer Meeting, please contact me and I would be happy to do so. I was honored to represent your voices at our National Council Session.

WHAT is the National Council Session?
Every three years, delegates from every Girl Scout council meet to vote on proposals related to the governance of the movement. The proposals are developed by individual or groups of councils or by the National Board. When is the National Council Session? This year it is July 18th through 20th. Where is the National Council Session? It moves around the country. This year it is being held in Orlando, Florida. Who are our delegates to the National Council Session? People from all over the council can submit an application to become a national delegate. The number of delegates allotted each council is determined by GSUSA. The board of our council then nominates a slate of both adult volunteers and youth Girl Scouts. The slate is voted on by the council delegates at the council's annual meeting the April one year prior to the national council session. I was elected in April 2022 and serve until April 2025. |
Please note that elected delegates Ember Ireland and Winnie Kubik were replaced by elected alternates Crystal and Heather Harper at NCS.
